Sketching at the beach

A trip to the beach was a different experience this summer.

Usually when I’m at the beach, I’m collecting shells, reading fiction or taking photographs of birds. This time, I was sketching.

I sketched smaller watercolors for postcards and larger images for upcoming art shows.

Favorite paints for capturing the sand, sea, sky and foilage included Thalo Yellow Green, Quinacridone Gold, Qunacridone Rose, Buff Titanium and Cobalt Teal Blue.

Here are some of my sketches that you can enjoy without having to put on sunscreen or worry about getting your shoes filled with sand.

These watercolor & pen and more of my work will be on display during August at Satchel’s.

  1. Good to hear from you! Hope you’ve had a chance to relax by the water’s edge this summer. You are, as always, kind. 🙂

  2. You are an amazing, multi-talented woman! I just stroll along the water’s edge and then sit and watch the waves or read when I get to the beach.
Fun to see all these sketches!
