Outdoor Joys

It seems I’ve been preoccupied with oil painting, getting the garden started, and generally enjoying the nature that visits the backyard to the extent that I haven’t posted much in the blog.

Below are some backyard residents and visitors. The bluebird family had a couple of children who quickly learned to enjoy the peanut butter suet. It is a favorite. Currently the mockingbird jealously guards the peanut butter suet and chases away other birds who might want to enjoy it. A range of birds from 4 kinds of woodpeckers (downy, red-bellied, piliated, red-headed) to turkeys, ibis and ducks have visited the yard lately.

Then there was the green frog that arrived with the basil. This was not the kind of frog that has suction feet and sticks to the glass door.
